[x], 100 pp. paper-covered boards w/cloth spine, printed paper label, Inscribed by Padraic Colum on the front flyleaf to "my dear friend Harry Laffan (sp)....". On the last printed page is in Colum's hand a heavily revised version of his poem "John Butler Yeats" (who died in 1922, the year of publication). Although I can not discover anything on Mr. Laffan, clearly he is a close friend, as this poem addresses him in two heavily revised lines, with two additional closing lines. As such, a heavily reworked version of an important poem. Unfortunately the printed version (newspaper) has been pasted in on the adjoining page causing significant offsetting. Considerable wear to the tips and somewhat less to the head and foot; interior quite clean and bright, thus better than good; lacking the scarce dust jacket. Good +. Item #6235
