He is a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Milwaukee's first Poet Laureate. Pencil notations on the endpapers, and a few within the text, offsetting to the ffep; the dust jacket (designed and illustrated by Fairfield Porter) is torn along the gutter, but without paper loss, the price is inked out.
