n.p. unpublished, 2012. First Edition. no binding. Thirteen leaves; mostly 4to. Beginning with a single sheet of torn yellow lined paper with the lines "Jazz/ I was a rock and roll child./ [[Phillip Larkin - unpleasant)'], then a sheet on lined paper including numbers in heavy ink, the next eleven sheets are in typescript with a poem entitled "Jazz", several with annotations in the poet's autograph in ink. Seven version in typescript of the poem including the retitling. The poem according to the attached note on the poet's stationary addressed to Dan Halpern the poem was "forthcoming" in the BOSTON REVIEW. These were sent by request to Daniel Halpern who was raising money for the National Poetry Series. Fine in the original bubble wrap envelope. Fine. Item #16204
Koethe is a professor of philosophy at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. Widely published and admired, he is the recipient of the Frank O'Hara Award and the Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award.
