Wrap-around band with blurbs by Vincent McHugh, Malcolm Cowley, Allen Tate & William Poster. Lightly toned spine, else an essentially as new copy including the spine label and promotional band, and scarce as such; certainly scarce with the printer/publisher's signature. Kees was one of the most accomplished poets of his generation, and as well a serious painter, jazz and movie critic. It is presumed that he jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge at the age of 41. Wilson was an early recipient of a MacArthur Foundation (genius grant) award (1983); this is one of two books mentioned on the Foundations website that he printed.
