Although the poets are clearly the main subjects of the photograph they are clearly not the center of attention; presumably someone else reading or something of the kind. The caption on the back of the frame states "1952," but judging from their ages, the image likely circa 1972. (There is a very faint postal cancel mark on the photo from 1975 so prior to that.)
